CollegeNod, LLC is an educational consulting company that assists high school students in planning for their future and finding their best college fit. The mission of CollegeNod is to reduce the stress and increase the joy of college planning by guiding students to uncover their interests and aptitudes, to identify their best-fit list of schools, and to complete stand-out college applications.
CollegeNod utilizes a data-driven approach to college advising and offers a unique menu of services that integrates cutting-edge technologies, including YouScience® assessments, Prompt college essay-writing tools, the Corsava® card sort, and a custom college planning platform, as well as innovative essay brainstorming and writing techniques.

ABOUT MINDY PETERSON
Mindy (she/her/hers) is an Independent Educational Consultant based in Malibu, California, specializing in supporting college-bound students through the college planning and application process. Mindy earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, a B.A. in Psychology from Cornell University, and a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. She is active in professional organizations with high ethical standards including IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association) where she is a Professional Member and the Chair of the UC Outreach Program, HECA (Higher Education Consultants Association), and NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling). Mindy has built a strong network of industry professionals in standardized test preparation, athletic recruiting, and art portfolio curation that she draws on to support clients.
Mindy is known in the Malibu community as a STEM advocate and educational reform leader and has received the California State PTA Golden Oak Service Award for her work. As an elected member of the Malibu High School Site Council, she spearheaded the Challenge Success Stanford Survey, which has enabled radical change in instruction, homework load, and faculty collaboration. Her focus on increasing advanced STEM offerings and retaining the accelerated math pathway at Malibu High School gives her insight into academic pathways and course selection that she shares with her clients.
Mindy recently guided her own two children through the college admissions process. Both engineers, Sofi graduated from MIT in 2018 and Lars graduated from Princeton in 2023.
